The seismic shift

I live in 635 square feet. Doing a kitchen remodel means that everything in my kitchen, and I mean every last little thing, had to be boxed up and moved somewhere else. But the workers will also need room to put their gear, and room to work, and room to put the trash. The only space, really, is the living room.

So that means that all of my kitchen and most of my living room, including about 500 things that used to hang on the walls, are now in the bedroom.

Poor bedroom. I won't be weaving anything anytime soon, I can tell you that. This is only a tiny portion of the crap that's piled up all over my bedroom now.
I hope the people below me don't live in a fog of rage for the next month. It's going to be loud. Fingers crossed that I can still access my DVR after today. DVR = remodel sanity preserver.
Everything will be draped in plastic today, and with any luck at all, when I get home from work all the squalor in my kitchen will be a thing of the past. Fingers crossed for a successful Day 1!

  1. I think this is the first time I've seen the new couch with the new windows. It looks really nice! Well, it looked nice before A&E commenced shooting Hoarders episodes in your place. I went through that Hoarders-looking-phase twice last year while moving--twice(!). Bad, bad memories.
